WALCHANDNAGAR CUP NATIONAL SERIES JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT (U/16) 2008
Bhimjiyani, Nanwani , Jain scrape past into second round at Walchand Cup Junior National ranking tennis.
Pune, Nov 5: Maharashtra players Devanshi Bhimjiyani , Simran Nanwani and Krutika Jain won close three set battles to move into the second round of the girls event at the Walchand Cup under 16 National Series Tennis Tournament' sponsored by Walchandnagar Industries as a part of their centenary celebrations and organized by Deccan Gymkhana and played on their tennis courts here.
In the first round Devanshi scraped past Delhi’s Shubh Gulati 6-2, 6-7(7-5), 6-0 ,while Nanwani won a three hour tussle against Andhra Pradesh player Sayedah Rehnuma (AP) 6-3, 2-6, 6-1, in the closest match of the day Krutika Jain (Mah) managed to put out Gujarat’s Aishwarya Mahida 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(7-5).
In the boys second round all the sixteen seeds sailed into the pre quarterfinals round without much effort .
