ITF Futures - Day 5

Turner to clash with Satschko in finals of $15000 Deccan Gymkhana-AITAITF Futures. Vardhan/Sharan lift doubles crown
Pune, October 9: Top seed Daniel King Turner, will clash with secondseed Alexander Satschko in the finals of the Bilcare Foundationsupported $15000 Deccan Gymkhana-AITA Men’s ITF Tennis Futures
organized by the Deccan Gymkhana Club at their tennis courts.
The lone Indian in the fray Rohan Gajjar had a bad day as he lost inboth events, in the singles semifinals the second seeded GermanAlexander Satschko stopped the sixth seeded Gajjar 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 ina 2 hrs 27 min tussle , while the topseeded New Zealand davis CupperDaniel King Turner outplayed Korean Kim Young Jun 6-3 7-6(8-6) in amatch lasting 1 hr 40 min
In the doubles finals second seeded pair of Divij Sharan /VishnuVardhan gave Gajjar the second shock of the day when they upset thetopseeded pair of Gajjar/Purav Raja 7-5, 6-3 in 1 hr 17 mins
This is my second week in India and finally I have found my bearings,I'm playing well .rohan played well but I'm happy to have won saidSatschko after the matchI could have done better , said the lanky Gajjar after his match.
In a well contested match both players played consistent tennis . Inthe fisrt set Satschko broke Gajjar in the 5th game to take the set. nthe second set king turner broke Kim in 2nd game of first set, in thesecond set Gajjar broke in the sixth game and levelled the set scores.in the decider , Gajjar was broken in the sixth game when he wasserving 2-3 and then on could not make a comeback
Gajjar got 7 points and $720 for his performance here,while the doubles winner pair will get 25 points, the runners up 14, the Semifinalists 7 points.
The finals of the event will be played tommorrow.
