Pune, October 6: Unseeded Purav Raja knocked out third seeded and379th ranked Vishnu Vardhan, Former Davis Cupper Karan Rastogi comingback after a long lay off due to injury upset seventh seeded DivijSharan , while top seeded Daniel King Turner survived a scare to moveinto the second round of the $15000 Deccan Gymkhana-AITA Men’s ITFTennis Futures organized by the Deccan Gymkhana Club at their tenniscourts
The tournament is being organized under All India TennisAssociation’s Special programme for Indian probables as a part ofCommonwealth Games Preparation.
In the biggest upset of the day purav raja ranked 936 th and more of adoubles specialist knocked out third seed Vishnu Vardhan5-7,7-6(5),6-4 in a 2 hr 16 minute battle , while Rastogi upsetseventh seeded Sharan 6-4,6-2 in a 1 hr 26 minute first round tussle.Top seeded Daniel King Turner ranked 317th survived a fighting N.Prashanth 4-6,6-2,6-3 in 1 hr 52 minute battle.
