Turner is King at $15000 Deccan Gymkhana-AITA ITF Futures
Pune, October 10 : New Zealand Davis Cupper and top seed Daniel KingTurner justified his top billing as he quelled the challenge ofsecond seededseed Alexander Satschko of Germany to lift the men's singles title atthe Bilcare Foundation supported $15000 Deccan Gymkhana-AITA Men’sITF Tennis Futuresorganized by the Deccan Gymkhana Club which concluded at their tenniscourts here today.
The lone in a well contested final lasting 2 hours and 1 minutes ,played on the hard courts the composed Kiwi Daniel King Turner scored6-7(3) 6-4 6-2 win over German Alexander Satschko to win the top prizeof $ 1950 and 25 points . The runnersup Satschko had to be contentwith$1350 and 14 points for his effort .
In the 1st set Satschko broke King in 3rd game but King Turner brokeback in 10th game to level scores and face a tiebreak, but Satschkoplayed solidly to take the tiebreak 7-3 and win the first set , in thesecond set King broke the German in the 5th game and then held on tohis serve to win the second set 6-4 and level scores. In the third serKing broke in 1st and 7th games to win the set rather easily and winthe crown .
"I'm happy to have won my first title in India and will surely backfor many more" said an elated Turner. I've been playing well throughtthe week and have played some good tennis and won against some goodplayers this week" he added .
The prizes were given away at the hands of Mr. Mohan Bhandari ofBilcare Foundation and Mr Ashish Sandu General Secretary of DeccanGymkhana. The tournament director Nitin Joshi welcomed the guests ,while organising commitee member Prashant Gosavi proposed the vote of thanks

In the event supported by Bilcare Foundation Rohan Gajjar displayedaggression to put out country mate Vijayant Malik 6-0, 6-3 in a 54minute tussle. “I’m thrilled the way I played, I’ve been playing welland hope to do better here” said the lanky Gajjar after his match.With this performance Gajjar is expected to break in the top 500bracket.
In the semifinals Gajjar will take on second seeded Alexander Satschkoranked 323 in a one sided 1 hour 27 min encounter Satschko playedsolid tennis to outplay fifth seed Ranjeet Virali Murugesan 6-1,6-3.

Turner looked in great form ashe attacked rastogi on both flanks. “I’ve heard Karan is good player,but today I planned my match. I’m happy to play in India and I like toplay here” Turner said.
Turner will take on Fourth seeded Kim Young Jun of Korea, who wasgiven a fright by eighth seeded Rupesh Roy, runners-up of the KolkattaFutures last week. Kim Young won 2-6,6-2,6-3 in a 1hour 42 minutematch . Roy broke him in the 1st and 5th game of the first set to takethe set at 6-2. Pune, October 7: Former Davis Cupper Karan Rastogi continued hiswinning run making it to the quarterfinals of the $15000 DeccanGymkhana-AITA Men’s ITF Tennis Futures organized by the DeccanGymkhana Club at their tennis courts. All the other seeds also movedinto the last eight of the event.
In the event supported by Bilcare Foundation Wildcard Rastogi playedsolid tennis to outplay Mithun Murali (Ind) 6-3,6-3 to make it thefirst quarterfinal in the men’s event after an 16 month lay off ,Rastogi will now clash with top seeded Kiwi Davis Cupper Daniel KingTurner who hit out P.C Vignesh 6-4,6-1
Fourth seeded Kim Young Jun of Korea outplayed Vinod Shridhar 6-3,6-2to set up a clash with eighth seeded Rupesh Roy who made heavy weatherof his match against Yannick Nelord winning 6-3,7-5.

Murali wins, as juniors fall by wayside at $15000 Deccan Gymkhana –AITA Men’s Tennis Futures.
Pune, October 5: Wild card Mithun Murali put out Ching Yu Huang ofTaipei, as two other wild card entrants and juniors Akash Wagh, SumeetShinde and local lad Rohan Gide fell by the wayside in the openinground of the $15000 Deccan Gymkhana-AITA Men’s ITF Tennis Futureswhich will be organized by the Deccan Gymkhana Club at their tenniscourts from October 3rd to 10th.
The tournament being organized under All India TennisAssociation’s Special programme for Indian probables as a part ofCommonwealth Games Preparation saw wild card entrant Murali score a6-4, 6-4 win over Ching Yu Huang of Taipei in 1 hour 34 minutes.
In the other singles matches wild card entrants local boys Akash Waghand Sumeet Shinde and South paw Rohan Gide found themselves out of thesingles.
Vinod Shridhar outplayed Rohan Gide of Indian Navy 6-3,6-1, while N.Shriram Balaji gave a lesson in tennis to junior Sumeet Shinde 6-3,6-2in 1 hr 15 minutes . Akash Wagh showed some promise initially but wentdown fighting to Yannick Nelord 7-6(3), 6-4 in 1 hr 33 minutes.
In the Murali- Huang tussle Murali broke the Taipei player in the 9thgame in the first set and the very 1st game in the second set toregister a 6-4, 6-4 win and make it to the second round.
In the double first round old warhorse Nitten Kirrtane teamed upwith his Western Railway teammate Aditya Madkekar to score ashocking 6-7 (11),7-6(1) 11-9 win over third seeded pair of RupeshRoy and Vivek Shokeen to make it to the last eight of the doubles.

Pune, October 4: Christopher Marquis outplayed Chinese Taipei’s I–Ta- Chen 3-6, 6-3,6-2 to make it to the main draw of the $15000Deccan Gymkhana-AITA Men’s ITF Tennis Futures which will beorganized by the Deccan Gymkhana Club at their tennis courts

It was announced that Davis Cupper and Young Indian tennis Star YukiBhambri pulled out of the event due to a lower back injury. Bhambrihad won 5 ITF Futures in row and his last win was at Kolkatta lastweek. His withdrawal was sent to the ITF Supervisor Sheetal Iyer.I-Ta- Chen of Taipei who lost to Marquis will take his place in themain draw as the lucky looser
